Plan of Action
Our approach was structured around an assessment of the plant operations. We started by walking the plant floor, talking to operators, and reviewing plant process and metrics.
On our walk of the facility, we found kaizen events in process under another consulting firm. We found a messy plant floor and some very frustrated machine operators. We observed a plant turned “out of control” by processes that were not in control. From our observations, it was understandable why neither quality nor output was functioning at acceptable levels.
We reported our findings and got a mandate from the division’s management to proceed and implement our plan. This was a key to the success of the project and ultimately the success of the facility.
