Simons-White was called into a manufacturing plant of a large Tier 1 automotive supplier struggling in the new super-competitive global automotive supplier market. Our purpose for the initial meeting was to discuss severe quality problems our as a quality solution provider has been traveling "word of mouth" from one auto supplier to another through the cross-fertilization in quality engineering staffs.

As we resolved quality issues and improved operating performance in one company engineers we had trained and helped had become positive additions to other companies' engineering staffs.  Our consulting and training transfers so many tools and so much know-how that other companies seem eager hire these engineers to support their own engineering teams.

And so it was at this company: An individual who had experienced out work at Eaton Corporation recommended out services to management. He knew our capabilities and insisted we be called in for discussion. so we were there to listen and offer out services.

From our initial telephone conversation, we knew that there was a high level of customer dissatisfaction due to various quality issues. After sitting down in the conference room with division management, we learned of consistent customer reject issues, botched product launches, loss of the Ford Q1 flag, and customers’ lack of satisfaction with the company’s response to problems. Their largest customer indicated a loss of confidence in the plant.
