Core Competency Assessment Tool provides a quick and clear picture of the core competencies your employees possess. Core competencies are transferable groups of core skills required for career success at all levels of employment and for all levels of education. Identified by ASTD and the SCANS Report, they provide the foundation for competing in a rapidly-changing world market –a market that expects workers at all levels to solve problems, improve processes, and interact effectively with co-workers.

The Core Competency Assessment Tool is easy to complete. In 30 minutes or less, employees answer a set of 48 online questions randomly generated from an item bank. Assessment items were developed by Ph.D. psychologists and instructional designers and have been validated by more than 2,500 employees who work in various work functions. Users are expected to correctly answer at least three (3) of the four (4) questions related to each competency to demonstrate proficiency.
Employees receive immediate feedback on:
- Competencies that represent strength areas
- Competencies that need further development
Employers receive a final report that includes group results for each competency (the percentage and number of employees proficient -and not proficient -in each competency). The report enables you to:
- make training decisions based on data
- Prioritize the use of training dollars
- Gain leadership support for training initiatives
